Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Email Marketing Cafe collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site at emailmarketingcafe.com is operated by KLD LLC, doing business as The Email Marketing Cafe ("we," "us"). If you have a question, email hello@emailmarketingcafe.com.

What we collect and why

We collect only what we need to send you emails you asked for, sell you what you buy, and keep the site running.

When you sign up for tips. The "Get Exclusive Tips" form asks for your first name, last name and email address. They go to our own self-hosted email system so we can send you the tips and occasional news from the Cafe. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect right away.

When you buy something. Payment happens on our own checkout page, but your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment processor. They never reach us, and we never store them. From Stripe we receive your name, email address, what you bought and whether the payment went through. We use that to deliver your purchase, send your receipt and keep our accounting records.

When you have a course login. If you buy the course, we create a login for you with your email address, your name and your password. The password is stored only as a secure hash, so no one, including us, can read it. Logins are kept in our database, which is hosted by Supabase. One cookie keeps you signed in while you use the course.

Emails about your order and login. Receipts, download links and password links are sent through Resend, an email delivery service.

When you visit the site. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.

Cookies

We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The only cookie we set is the login cookie that keeps students signed in. On the checkout page, Stripe may set its own cookies to help prevent fraud.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the services that do the work described above:

• Stripe, to take payments
• Supabase, to store course logins
• Resend, to send receipts, download links and password emails
• Vercel, to host the site

Each of them handles your information under their own privacy policies and only for the job we use them for. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it:

• Sign-up details stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
• Order records stay as long as tax and accounting rules require.
• Course logins stay for as long as you have access to the course, unless you ask us to delete yours.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email hello@emailmarketingcafe.com and we'll take care of it. Residents of some US states and of other countries have additional rights under their local laws. We honor these requests from anyone, wherever you live.

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link at the bottom of each one. Emails about an order you placed, like receipts and download links, will still reach you.

Keeping information safe

We use secure connections across the whole site, store passwords only as secure hashes, and limit who can reach the data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Children

The Email Marketing Cafe is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on the site.
